On the 21st day of December my true love gave to me...

A Double Date
Tonight was a planned night without the babies. Since last Thursday I have been super excited about it. I think Jen and I were so pumped we couldn't decide what to do with ourselves getting to eat a meal without puffs or someone clinging to our necks. Usually when we hang out it is pretty loud & I'm sure kinda hard for others to enjoy their meals. So this date night was highly needed.
I was expressing to Jen how hard it has been to juggle everything with working weekends now.  J and I are  the kinda couple that you know just fit. We can just be in the same room and know what one another is thinking. We aren't the kind to love all over each other in public. By this I mean you may have seen us hold hands in public or sit close together, but you probably have only seen us kiss on our wedding day. We are very private people when it comes to PDA. So onto the juggling... we knew it would be an adjustment and we knew we would have to work a little differently to keep it all together and flowing. So when Jen mentioned "hey let's get baby sitters" I was all in.
So the plan was to have On the Boarder for dinner and black light mini golf for kicks and giggles.  Dinner was great and we talked so much we over stuffed ourselves and the waiter sounded like a tape recorder. He said the same thing to every table he serve. Which would have been fine if you could have understood him babbling it off 70 mph. We just laughed and tried to piece together what the heck the waiter just said only to conclude something about mentioning his name and 15%.
So we shrugged our shoulders and moved on. Jen mentioned that she was looking for a new bookshelf and she knows I'm a sucker for IKEA... so where did we end up?
Yep, IKEA! We walked off every, well I'd like to think it was every calorie we consumed. Then we gained it all back + some with the irresistible cinnamon roll and ice cream!  I was on sugar overload. It reminded me of when I lost my mind and went shopping alone in ikea 8 mo pregnant pushing a cart around larger than I could see around.   Then I regained all of my senses and grabbed a coke, cinnamon roll and an ice cream for no other than yours truly for the ride home!  What was I thinking, better yet poor Eli!
We had a great date and ended up picking up little bit kinda late. He fell asleep in the car and took a bottle and slept 9 hours.  He has been a pretty good sleeper these days. Giving me 10 and sometimes 12 hours at night!  Super happy momma over here!
Well, enough of my rambling I'm off to bed.

On the 8th day of December my true love gave to me...

One funny, bubbly boy!
So blessed!
Remember the pic of E with the reindeer antlers on?
Well a few seconds after that was shot, he decided to
go nose diving off the couch!
He won himself that beautiful purple bump of a prize!
I felt horrible, it was my fault.
Made me fell better after talking with a few other friends
with babes the same age... it was a bad week of hot coffee and
shaving razors and a rolling ottoman!
Crazy stuff kids!
Let's at least make it to the most wonderful time of the year!
Getting closer to Christmas and it will definitely be one
we will never forget!

Night,
Jen

On the 7th Day of December my true love gave to me....

2 beautiful canvases of my beautiful boy!

I am in LOVE!!! My heart melted when I opened the box and saw my sweet boy staring back at me. I ordered these from Easy Canvas Prints. I jumped on a deal Thanksgiving weekend and I am so happy with this purchase. They are running a 25% off sale now with guaranteed arrival before Christmas. Just a side note.  Let me tell you had I known the quality of these canvases I would have ordered 4-5 more. This is an 18x24 .75" canvas. Okay so I just checked out their site and good news!!!! They are offering the deal again!  Go here to order your 18x24 for 34.99!!! Ok just made my night! And one other thing, you can submit your story and receive 40% off your entire order! Super happy girl over here in our little cozy apartment!
Oh one other thing that helps... like them on face book so you can keep up with their deals.
ps. I have not received any incentive for sharing this information. I am just one happy owner of 2 very beautiful canvases and wanted to share with you to maybe help cross someone off your list.

On the 6th day of December my true love gave to me...

Do you see the joy shining up in the wall above the tree!
That describes this Christmas perfectly!
My heart is so full of joy I'm sure
it can just be nudged and pour over!
Eli is at such a fun age.
I just want to press the
pause button and keep
him 9 months forever.
I'm pretty sure we could
potty train him and that
would be the icing in the
cake for sure!
Awe, but to think this time last year
I was 28 weeks pregnant and glowing.

This year I am still glowing.

Any time someone makes my baby
smile, I light up and my world
closes in on that moment and
I soak it in and just breathe the
magic of that moment.  It is as if
we are the only 2 souls on earth.
My world stops.
I am so grateful for those moments.
I am so thankful for joy!

Eyes wide open,
Jenny

ps if you are praying for your moment, your promise, your joy, just know that I am praying for you tonight. I am praying that God in His divine power show up for you in the form of grace and mercy and show you a glimpse of hope. God is faithful, so faithful.

On the 5th day of December my true love gave to me...

One sweet boy, an overflowing heart and a giant Christmas tree!

This was my first attempt of capturing a glowing
Christmas tree with E and my newest
member of my camera bag, the
Sony alpha A35. So I set the camera on M and 1/30 f4 ISO 3200.
Then I tried it with an ISO of 1600, it was a little darker,
but I still didn't get the silhouette of Eli to work out like I wanted.
I could only fit the tree and Eli in the lens.
The tree he is looking at is 12 ft... yes 12!
It is in a huge room.
Hence why he is sitting on an ottoman
instead of the floor. We would be looking at
the pole instead.
So the AWB was reading all the light and
made the overall picture brighter.
And that my friend is why you could tell
he is wearing light blue.
I tried to use my 1.8/50, but I couldn't
back across the room far enough to fit
the tree and E in the lens.
If you look at the pic below, you will see
that some of the actual room is in the lens
and so the light meter in the camera factored that
in to the lighting is put into the picture.
There for she has more of a silhouette
of her little one than I was able to get of E.
Also E was  little blurry because 1, he was moving,
and 2, I wasn't using a tripod or anything
to prop the camera and should have.

So here you have it...
my first attempt with this camera.
Which I am in love with BTW.
I have had it since April and I use it almost
every day!
highly recommended if your
wanting to put a SLR on your wish list.
If you would like to see a tutorial on how to show your glow,
click the picture below and it will explain more than I did.
Link your glow up to the party!

Unskinny Boppy

I love the idea of doing this every year as Eli grows!
Isn't that just the magic of Christmas!
If you have found my blog via the link party,
welcome!
My blog is about life after infertility
and the hope of God's grace that blessed
us with once cute little boy.
Glad you stopped by.
